Hormone Pellet Therapy for Men
As men age, hormone levels begin to decline and optimizing them can make most men at this stage in life feel a lot better. Of course, like anything, hormones need to be used responsibly.
At The Natural Path, Dr. Madda has been treating men with low testosterone and/or erectile dysfunction for almost 20 years. In the last decade, we had seen a lot of men who are a young with low T levels. Once we balance testosterone levels, most men feel a whole lot better and report an increase in mental clarity/focus, erectile improvements, increased libido, and an overall sense of well-being.
Dr. Madda treats his men with low T in using either injectable testosterone or testosterone in the hormone pellet form. Both males and females have used pellet therapy for years in the medical world. They are a wonderful way to optimize hormones, especially if you do not want to remember to take something every week or have a fear of needles.
Is Testosterone Replacement Necessary?
I had a medical anthropologist tell me once that we were “outliving our hormones.” This makes a lot of sense to me. Humans begin the decline of hormones in the late 30’s. Hormone therapy is of huge benefit for men with clinical and/or subclinically low levels of testosterone. Testosterone is required for several human body functions such as male sexual development, maintaining bone density, keeping healthy levels of red blood cells, reproductive functions, building muscle bulk, brain function, stronger tissues and more.
How does Pellet Therapy Work?
Testosterone pellets are about the size of a grain of rice. A licensed physician will implant them under the patient’s skin in a very simple procedure. The pellets contain testosterone in a crystallized form that can deliver a steady, low dose to the patient for up to six months at a time.
Some patients might also experience having the wounds infected due to unsterilized tools used during the procedure. They might also feel the pellets coming out of their skin due to the pellets not being inserted correctly, and some might even have incorrect dosages. However, these can be prevented by having skilled doctors administer the procedure, using clean equipment and tools for a safer therapy.
Benefits of having hormone therapy for men
Pellet therapy for men can effectively address the problems caused by having low testosterone levels. Men who underwent the procedure can already experience having increased sexual appetite, increased muscle building, more energy and a significant boost in their moods, and decreased fatigue. Some men have also reported that they could sleep well and lose weight more effectively with hormone therapy.
