Tips to Maximize Weight Loss Potential with Semaglutide

1. Eat Smaller Portions on the Food Plan

Semaglutide for weight lossSemaglutide will make you feel full on far less food, so plan to eat small meals throughout the day. If you eat too much in one sitting, you can end up with nausea, heartburn, or other unpleasant GI issues. If intermittent fasting works for you, that is also a nice plan on the program.

2. Concentrate on Eating  Slowly

Did you know it takes your brain 10 minutes or more to register that your body feels satiated? It is so important to take your time, chew your food slowly while on Semaglutide. Concentrate on slowing down and taking a moment between each bite. This is a good mindfulness practice

3. Avoid Foods That May Cause Side Effects

While no food is 100% off-limits when taking Semaglutide, we highly recommend following Dr. Cara’s specific food plan @ 90% of the time. The goal is to use Semaglutide as a tool to dial in a healthy lifestyle diet. There are also some foods that create GI distress with Semaglutide for many people. These include fatty foods, processed foods, and foods with added sugar.

4. Drink a LOT of Water

You know the importance of drinking enough water — it’s vital for all your bodily processes. Water becomes even more important with Semaglutide, as staying hydrated can stave off nausea that some people experience on this medication. Try to get in a minimum of 80 ounces of water a day. Water will also help to keep flushing out toxins as you lose weight. I also highly recommend a 0 sugar electrolyte daily.

5. Keep Alcohol to a Minimum — or Not at All

Alcohol can irritate your stomach while you’re taking Semaglutide. It can also influence your blood sugar levels.

6. Aim to Lose One to Two Pounds MAX Each Week

This program isn’t about FAST weight loss— it provides healthy weight loss at a rate of one to two pounds per week.

7. Move as Much as You Can

Stay Positive and Eat with Joy on Semaglutide

Joy is a necessary ingredient to change habits and patterns. If the JOY is there you will change and possibly maintain your losses. I have found that almost all of my patients have continued to lose slowly after going off of Semaglutide. The dietary change is so important.
