Semaglutide HCG DIET weight loss TirzepatideIt has been about 1.5 years since I have been leading patients through my wellness program using Semaglutide or Tirzpeatide. Our Semaglutide/Tirzepatide program is going really well.  I love the results that my patients are having. They are learning to reset habits and patterns with food and losing weight in the process. The Semaglutide or Tirzpeatide Food Plan

The food plan that I have created for the Semaglutide program is what I would consider a great lifestyle diet. It is what I have seen work best in the thousands of patients I have helped lose weight in the past 20 years.  I am always amazed at the many different ways you can combine the foods on the list to have delicious meals. Sometimes, the choice to have or not have processed snacks or extra portions of food comes down to giving in to our pleasure receptors … or denying those receptors.  More often than not, the pleasure area of the brain wins. Food is like a legal drug sometimes.  Remember that we have had constant access to food only in recent human history!  We were not designed for that! It can take time — but eventually, the foods on the list can become some of your main “go-to’s” in life. I also cannot say enough about the habit of food preparation!  It will save you over and over again.

Following the food plan can be a challenge over the holiday season. Dial it in the best you can, and DO NOT beat yourself up if you have an indulgent night. It can be challenging (especially during the holidays) to stop ourselves from gravitating to the snacks or cocktails at the holiday gathering. If you want to stay on the food program … plan ahead!!!!  Bring your own delicious dish to the party. 

Find things on the list that feel like a treat!  Lately, I have been loving creating big salads with greens, steamed veggies, and protein. Listen to your body and chew your food slowly. I LOVE tea this time of year. The Good Earth Sweet and Spicy is my forever favorite.  I encourage you to find something on the food plan that feels like a TREAT!  A nice cup of tea, a glass of Zevia, some sliced cucumbers, celery, and radishes!   Yesterday, I made a delicious Tzatziki with some Greek yogurt, water, dill, salt, and pepper and tossed some cucumbers in it, and WOW … it really hit the spot.

Making Good Choices with Semaglutide and Tirzepatide

Life has so many trade-offs!  Do you want to deny yourself the extra helping of food (that you probably do not need)  or deprive yourself of the healthy body composition you have been longing for? It feels good to be in control of food and not let it control you. In many ways, this program is a behavioral eating rehab!  Getting in the habit of making healthy choices for yourself takes practice, and it is SO worth it.  The Tirzepatide/Semaglutide is helpful as a TOOL to dial back the behavioral aspect of eating and allow you to dial in a healthy lifestyle diet that over time, can become second nature. This is the goal of the program.  Keep your eye on our GOAL!!!  Ask yourself before you choose … does this choice support the life/body I am trying to create!?  Stay Prepared! Stay Hydrated! Make sure bowels move daily. Journal feelings if needed! Never give up! Have reasonable expectations of 4-8 lbs per month on average with 2-10 lbs being the general span for most. Expect stalls that last 1-3 weeks here and there. The physiology of weight loss can have its own special rhyme and rhythm.
