The Elixir of Bone Broth on the HCG Diet

Bone broth is truly dense in nutrition. Bone broth is known to be rich in amino acids, vitamins, minerals, collagen, gelatin and keratin. These nutrients are a wonderful addition to the HCG Diet.  I recommend bone broth to help with gastro-intestinal health, immunity, minerals and trace mineral supplementation as well as bone and joint health.  Bone broth is rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, potassium; glucosamine and chondroitin, gelatin and many amino acids.

CREATING BONE BROTH FOR THE HCG DIET PHASE II AND PHASE III

The process used to make bone broth is oh so simple.  Get a large stock pot or use your slow cooker and slowly simmer animal bones anywhere from 4 hours to 48 hours.  Bone broth can be rich and flavorful. Generally, you can gather 1 lb of bones from beef, lamb, fish, poultry, etc; 4-5 cups of water and 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar. Place the bones in a pot and cover them with cold water and apple cider vinegar and let it sit for about a half hour. Place pot on a stove and bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a gentle simmer for 4 hours to 2 days.  The longer the broth simmers the higher it will be in mineral content. Optional add ins would be chopped vegetables and fresh or dried herbs.  These are best added in about half way through the cooking time. When you are done simmering your soup, you can remove the bones and any of the vegetables that you choose.

Making Bone Broth HCG Diet Phase II and Phase III Friendly

On the HCG diet, we ask that you only use HCG Diet friendly vegetables. Next, strain the broth and then place it in a glass container in the fridge. On phase II of the HCG Diet, you will want to let the broth completely cool in the fridge and then skim any fat off of the surface.  The broth can be used as a soup base, as the liquid when cooking grains, a savory tea or beverage.  Give it a try … it’s delicious and nourishing on a cellular level.
