Have you heard of Semaglutide butt??  This article will help outline some of the basic details about what Semaglutide is and who it works best for. I have used it very successfully as a “tool” in my medical practiee to help my patients dial in a healthy DIET. This is a must in order to maintain the losses. It also can be met with JOY. It feels good to nourish your body on a cellular level. Get ready to feel your best and this medication can be a great tool to help you get there.

What is compounded Semaglutide?

You may have heard or read that semaglutide medication is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. So, what does that mean and how does it actually work for weight loss?  GLP-1 receptors in our body can be found in our pancreas and our brain and they are critical to controlling blood sugar and appetite during process of insulin secretion. When these receptors receive certain signals from the body, via an agonist (GLP-1 or Semaglutide) they work to regulate insulin, control glucose, and produce a feeling of fullness which usually happens after eating.  Semaglutide is a substitute or artificial GLP-1 receptor agonist, which means that it sends the same signals to the brain and body that regulate blood sugar and make you feel fuller, longer without as much food intake.  The GLP-1 that our body naturally makes is broken down very quickly in the body. Novonordisk, the pharmaceutical company that patented Semaglutide created a GLP-1 that has a 7 day half-life and this is known as Semaglutide.  Very simply, a decrease in appetite and less food intake means weight loss in most humans. In a major clinical trial, semaglutide patients lost over five times more weight than the placebo group. Weight loss has a multitude of benefits. Weight loss  can reduce the risk of many weight-related diseases, including diabetes, heart disease, and even certain cancers. It also has been shown to boost confidence and provide an overall sense of well-being.

Who is a candidate for Semaglutide?

Semaglutide has been used for quite a variety of patients. Although it is safe in many ways, it may not be suitable for everyone.  Ingeneral, Semaglutide is best for those with a BMI over 30 or a BMI over 27 with a comorbid condition such as elevated blood pressure, blood sugar or cholesterol.  Individuals with a history of pancreatitis or some types of cancers may not be ideal candidates. Patients under the age of 18 or over 75, as well as those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, should avoid taking Semaglutide. It is important to use Semaglutide under the care of a medical professional and to understand the side effects, etc.

Can Semaglutude be a long-term solution for weight loss?

Semaglutide was originally created as a treatment for type 2 diabetes, and has shown to be safe for extended use and can be used long-term for weight loss as well. When semaglutide is stopped, appetite will return. It is important to use the medication as a tool to change your lifestyle diet. Once you dial in the dietary portion and make that 2nd nature most will maintain losses once they discontinue Semaglutide. It is important to work with someone to help guide you along the way.
