VALENTINES DAY AND THE HCG DIET … CHOCOLATE?

February 12, 2017 By , ,

Any holiday presents challenges on the HCG Diet program.  We are a culture that celebrates with FOOD and DRINK and often times, celebratory cuisine is not really the healthiest of fare.  In every day life, it is important to indulge and enjoy now and then. However, on the HCG Diet program phase II, the protocol is so specific that a “cheat” can hold you back for a few days in the weigh loss department.  Valentines day is one of those holidays where people want to say I LOVE YOU with sugar and sweets!

STRATEGIES TO ENJOY VALENTINES DAY ON THE HCG DIET PHASE 2

My first tip is to think about all of the things that you CAN have!  I always recommend sirloin tips and lobster tails as a special meal with a nice glass of sparkling water garnished with a lime wedge.  Dessert could be some baked strawberries with stevia and a dusting of raw cacao powder. Truly, this is a delicious meal.  It’s about staying positive and remembering what your goal is.  It is about thinking of all that you are doing for yourselt and LOVING this path that you are on YOU are doing this for YOU. If you really want a little chocolate treat on phase II, you can take about 1/2 tsp of coconut oil and mix it with some raw cacao powder and stevia to taste.  This is as deliciously decadent as most chocolate treats. Try it!

Valentines Day on Phase 3 of the HCG Diet

Phase 3 of the HCG Diet allows a lot more freedom to explore while still staying in the realm of a healthy diet.  For phase III, you could have some chocolate that is sweetened with stevia or that is 100% dark chocolate with no sweetener at all!  You can enjoy all kinds of healthy treats that are very low in sugar and carb. I love making my “bites of bliss” chocolates this time of year and I actually bring them to the office to share with my patients on P3 of the HCG Diet.  These are made with raw cacao paste from Ecuador, raw cocoa butter, vital proteins collagen powder, spirulina, hemp seeds, chia seeds, raw cacao powder, cacao nibs, raw cashews, raw pecans, almond butter and a few stevia drops to sweeten. These are delicious little morsels that are packed with nutrition! Of course, you still need to practice moderation.
