Enjoy a wonderful soak in Epsom Salts!

Epsom salt baths are one of my favorite parts of any cleansing or detoxification program. I suggest that all of my medical weight loss patients at The Natural Path (HCG DIET/SYNERGYrx weight loss) take a nice epsom salt bath every night before bed.  Epsom salt is also known as magnesium sulfate and is a wonderful way to use your skin as an organ of detoxification.

The Many Benefits of Epsom Salts

Epsom salt contains both magnesium and sulfate. Sulfates play an important role in the formation of brain tissue, joint proteins and the proteins that line the walls of the digestive tract.
They’re also one of the most detoxifying compounds on earth, which is why people flock to spas that offer natural hot sulfur baths. Sulfates stimulate the pancreas to generate digestive enzymes and are thought to help detoxify the body of medicines and environmental contaminants. Magnesium has a lot of fancy roles in the body too! According to the National Academy of Sciences, American’s magnesium deficiency can contribute to high rates of heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, arthritis and joint pain, digestive issues, stress-related illnesses, chronic fatigue and a number of other ailments.
Magnesium helps to relaxes your nervous system and it relaxes the walls of the arteries (one reason magnesium is so good for blood pressure).

Epsom Salt Baths and Detoxification

Epsom salts allow the body to release toxins. As fat cells are mobilized, a toxic load can be released and having all of your detox pathways open is a great goal to strive for while cleansing.   The bath itself should be warm enough to generate a light sweat!  These baths can also help you sleep as Magnesium Sulfate is known to be very relaxing!!!
