Enjoying Thanksgiving on the HCG Diet

 

Holiday Eating TipsHolidays can be a challenging time to take on the HCG Diet Protocol or any cleanse for that matter. Holidays are a time for being social and most social gatherings are centered around food.  This is a time to put will power to the test and to see how you can do at a social gathering without making food your big priority.  It really is not that much of a challenge if you plan ahead with your eating and set a goal to connect with people and not with the food that is offered.

 

Tips for a Happy Thanksgiving While on the HCG Diet

 

Take time in the morning to think about what you are thankful for. Make this a day of utmost thanks and gratitude for the gifts in your life. Establishing this tone for the day will take your mind off of food. You can also remind yourself that by eating “clean” you will not have overloaded your digestive system with too much food.  You will go to bed feeling really light and happy.  Alcohol can be something that makes you feel like you are missing out in a social situation. All alcohol is basically sugar and this is not really welcome on Phase II of the HCG Diet.  Grab a nice glass and fill it with your favorite sparkling water with a lemon or lime wedge and some flavored stevia drops (if you like those).

 

A Nice HCG Diet Thanksgiving Meal

 

Scallops are a very special treat for many people.  If cooked right, these could be a perfect holiday meal. I am going to indulge a tad and add a bit of MCT oil to the menu for this holiday dish.

 

In a skillet pan; place 1 tbsp MCT oil and add 1/2 chopped leek and 3 cloves of minced garlic and sautee for 3-5 minutes.  Next, add 5 cups of spinach and cook until they wilt a bit.  Remove this mixture from the pan and place in a bowl.  Next step is to put your scallops in a bowl and season them with salt and pepper.  Cook the scallops over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side. Place the spinach mixture on the bottom of the plate and add scallops to the top.  Squeeze lemon on top and garnish with a sprig of cilantro.

 

For desert, core an apple and add cinnamon, lemon and stevia in the center. Bake on 350 degrees for 45 minutes.  Enjoy and give thanks.
